National key account manager Switzerland

As a key account manager at Chocolat Alprose, you are responsible for building and guarding long-term partnerships with our customers and contributing positively to the sales growth of existing business of both Branded and Private Label products on the Swiss market.

About this job:

With your business insight, agility and collaborative qualities, you identify new account and category opportunities and are able to convert these to profitable business. Although the position is an independent one, you will be in daily contact with your colleagues in Caslano and on a frequent basis you will also work from our office. Being the first point of contact for our Swiss customers, it is your responsibility to share commercial information in a clear and structured way with the colleagues from the Customer Service department. You manage your own agenda and coordinate appointments and actions in liaison with your line manager.

Your tasks as a national key account manager:

  • Setting up an account plan, with a structured approach to a number of selected key customer accounts;
  • Identifying and acting upon new market / account opportunities;
  • Integral management of existing customers;
  • Visiting our customers on a regular basis;
  • Ensuring that product opportunities within the entire group are explored and presented to the relevant accounts;
  • Taking a collaborative, connecting and active role in optimizing the internal work flow related to promotion plans, sales forecast, logistics, knowledge sharing etcetera, while cooperating with our Customer Service, Product Managers and Supply Chain;
  • Performing market and competitor analyses on a frequent basis.

As a national key account manager, this is what you bring:

  • A relevant, completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (f.e. Business Administration, Sales & Marketing) or relevant/equivalent work experience in a sales position;
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience as a Key Account Manager, preferably focusing on major Swiss retailers;
  • Retail experience within food and/or confectionery industry;
  • You are fluent in Swiss-German and have a good knowledge of English. Any other languages would be an advantage;
  • Proficient computer skills (Office package);
  • An ambitious and analytical personality with a high sense of responsibility, hands-on mentality and excellent sales, communication and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independent and in a team, entrepreneurial work ethic, structured way of working and a flexible, solution-driven mindset.
