To strengthen our purchasing team, Baronie Switzerland SA is looking for a central Raw Material Purchaser. In this key role within our business, you are responsible for the purchasing and commercial sourcing strategy of certain raw material groups for all manufacturing sites within our group.
This includes defining and executing the sourcing plan as well as monitoring and developing the supplier base. In addition to this, you’ll be an active participant on compliance, risk management and finance related matters for your raw material perimeter. For this role, you will be based in our offices in Caslano, Switzerland.
The job includes (but is not limited to):
- defining and executing the strategic purchase strategy for your raw material group together with the Head of Non-Cocoa Purchasing whilst maintaining the sustainability goals of the group;
- building and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure market access and compliance;
- management of raw material positions and contract administration;
- working closely with and providing data to the Risk Management/Finance team and Backoffice team;
- ensuring our systems and tools are best-in-class;
- being the centre of expertise for all questions regarding raw material markets, products, exchanges, regulations and market intelligence; and
- taking a collaborative, connecting and active role within our group to build strong relationships with all internal stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate:
- has excellent interpersonal skills and is highly representative;
- shines both independently and as part of a team;
- is an excellent communicator in English, both verbal and written. Any other languages would be a plus;
- combines a high sense of ownership with a hands-on mentality, structured way of working and strong analytical skills;
- has excellent negotiation skills;
- has a 'radar' for potential risks in relation to risk management;
- has a strategic, bird's-eye overview of the business, but also an eye for detail;
- can break complex matters down for people of varying skillsets;
- has 3-5 years of experience in (soft) commodities, food, or the financial industry; and
- has a completed Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Economics, Business Administration, Trade & Finance, Supply Chain).
