Sustainability Coordinator Germany & Poland (m/f/d)

Sustainability is a key element within our business, it is pivotal in ensuring that our business is future proof for all actors in our supply chains.

As a Sustainability Coordinator of Stollwerck & Gryf, you are responsible for the successful execution of all sustainability related activities within the regional scope of their business activities.

In your role, you will report to our Head of Sustainability and work closely together with the Sustainability Coordinator, who are both based in Caslano (CH), as part of the central sourcing department of Baronie. You will be part of the international sustainability team of the group and our internal and external ambassador for a diversity of sustainable topics and you will be responsible for the proactive implementation of our sustainability activities. It is important that you are able to form and maintain strong relationships with a vast range of internal and external stakeholders of Stollwerck and Gryf.The role will be based at our office in Berlin/Norderstedt, Germany / Szczecin, Poland.

Your responsibilities as a Sustainability Coordinator:

  • First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders of our entities in Germany and Poland on sustainability topics;
  • Working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and international sustainability related legislations and due diligence;
  • Implementing with relevant colleagues the Group climate strategy, including the annual CO2 assessment;
  • Giving advice and support to colleagues on sustainability matters;
  • Pro-active internal and external promotion of the Group’s sustainable cocoa program ‘Transparence Cacao’;
  • Contribute to Group sustainability topics and periodical reporting to Group level with requested updates;
  • Monitoring & evaluation: Collect, analyse and validate sustainability data for internal and external reporting;
  • Assisting with internal and external sustainability related communication;
  • Fulfilling customer and stakeholder requests on a diversity of sustainability topics;
  • Taking a collaborative, connecting and active role within our organization;

As a Sustainability Coordinator, this is what you bring:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline to the role (e.g. (food) sustainability, environment);
  • Experience in a similar or relevant role within the food/commodity industry and/ or affinity with sustainability related topics such as environment, due diligence, human rights;
  • You combine technical skills (data management and analysis) with strong functional skills (communication and project management);
  • Knowledge of and experience with the implementation of national and international regulations related to sustainability, due diligence and/ or climate;
  • A pragmatic personality with a broad interest, high sense of ownership, entrepreneurial work ethic, hands-on mentality, excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, solution-driven mind-set;
  • You have a structured way of working and enjoy working both independently and in a team;
  • You are fluent in German and English. Any other languages such as Polish would be an advantage;
  • Affinity with financial and/or legal matters is a plus;
  • Proficient computer skills (Office package);
  • Excellent communication skills, across all levels of our organisation, both verbal and written, are crucial elements of your profile;
