Shop Floor Operator (m/f/x)

Join our team as Shop Floor Operator and be part of the final stage of our production process. This varied, hands-on role offers the opportunity to rotate across packing, palletising, feeding, and inspection tasks, ensuring our products are packed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. 

In our factory in Merthyr Tydfil, we produce and pack up to 50 tons of wafer, marshmallow bars, toffees and eclairs per day on a large variety of production and packaging lines and machines. 

 

Your responsibilities as a Shop Floor Operator:

  • Work as a multifunctional operator across packing, palletising, feeding, and inspection areas.
  • Rotate between tasks such as packing products, palletising, cutter operation, wafer/magazine feeding, fridge inspection, and caramel line duties.
  • Carry out servicing tasks including waste removal and collecting empty pallets.
  • Check product day codes and pallet quantities accurately.
  • Complete all required documentation clearly and correctly.
  • Follow company policies to maintain product quality, safety, legality, and hygiene standards.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support and train new staff as needed.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and follow “clean‑as‑you‑go” principles to keep the area tidy.
  • Participate in required training and uphold company values: entrepreneurial, no‑nonsense, reliable, enthusiastic, and craftsmanship‑focused.

  • Communication skills
  • Numeracy and literacy skill
  • Demonstrates a team orientated approach.
  • Previous experience working in hygiene role
  • Previous experience working in food manufacturing industry.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, quality focused environment.
