Our chocolate history
1896
De Heer chocolate factory established in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
1920
Baronie created by the partners Barents, Roth and Nieuwenhuis.
1957
Chocolat Alprose SA founded in Ticino, Switzerland.
1982
Baronie acquired De Heer chocolate factory and the new entity Baronie – De Heer BV was founded.
1998
Baronie held 100% privately by current shareholder.
2011
An active year for the group: Stollwerck GmbH, Chocolat Alprose SA, Chocolat Jacques, as well as Kathy Chocolaterie NV join the group.
2014
Baronie acquired the Belgian chocolate specialty manufacturer Duc d’O.
2015
Baronie UK Ltd founded with a production site in Corby.
2021
A major milestone for the group: the Cémoi group and Baronie group become partners which opens doors for the group to full control of the global supply chain.
